What TIIN is, how buying and claims actually work, and what happens to your data.

About TIIN

4

TIIN is a research-led digital insurance marketplace for the Nigerian market. It lets individuals, families, groups and businesses discover, compare, purchase and manage insurance products from multiple licensed insurers in one place, backed by independent market research.

No. TIIN is a digital insurance agency/marketplace, not an insurer, underwriter or broker. Every product on the platform is underwritten by a participating, NAICOM-licensed insurance company. TIIN distributes those products but never assumes underwriting or claims-payment risk itself.

TIIN is designed for individuals, families, employees, businesses, groups, cooperatives, associations and communities across both the formal and informal sectors of the Nigerian economy.

TIIN partners with licensed Nigerian insurers who sign a distribution agreement and are verified during onboarding. Every insurer listed on the platform holds a valid NAICOM licence.

Choosing cover

4

TIIN covers three broad categories: life insurance (individual, group, term, whole, education, savings and retirement plans, and more), non-life insurance (health, motor, travel, home, business, marine, and more), and inclusive insurance (microinsurance, Takaful, group welfare and bundled plans). See the Products & Services page for the full list.

Yes. Comparing coverage and pricing across insurers side by side is a core part of TIIN, so you can make an informed choice before you buy.

Review each product’s description, benefits, premium, eligibility requirements and exclusions, then compare the suitable options side by side before deciding. TIIN also publishes plain-language product guides and independent research to help you understand your options, and our support team (reachable from the Contact page) can point you to the right category if you are unsure.

Yes. TIIN provides simple product explanations, insurance education and customer support so you can make an informed decision without prior insurance knowledge.

Buying & payment

4

You compare products, choose the cover that fits, complete a short application, and pay online. Once payment is confirmed, your policy documents are issued by the underwriting insurer and made available in your TIIN account.

The payment options available depend on the product and the underwriting insurer. Some products allow premiums to be paid monthly, quarterly, half-yearly or annually, and the options open to you are shown before you confirm a purchase.

Payment options will be confirmed at checkout as part of the transactional platform (registration, purchase and payment go live alongside this marketing site). This page will be updated once payments are enabled.

Policy documents are delivered digitally to your TIIN account and the email address on file once your underwriting insurer confirms and issues the policy.

Claims

2

You notify TIIN or the underwriting insurer directly, depending on the product, and follow the claims process for that policy. TIIN helps track the claim status, but the underwriting insurer makes the claims decision.

No. TIIN is an agency, not an underwriter, so it does not decide claims and cannot guarantee a claim outcome. Claims are assessed and paid by the licensed insurer that underwrote your policy, according to that policy’s terms, coverage limits, exclusions and the evidence submitted.

Research

3

TIIN runs AI-assisted monthly omnibus surveys covering the Nigerian insurance sector, and publishes the findings and market insights through the Research & Insights Hub to help customers understand providers, products and other customers’ experiences.

Yes. TIIN’s research function is editorially independent of the commercial marketplace. It is not paid or directed by any single insurer, which is part of what "research-led" means for TIIN. Findings are published using structured research methods, and the methodology, sample information and limitations are disclosed clearly with each publication, in line with the ethics of the global market research industry.

No. Customer feedback reflects individual experiences and is not a regulatory or official rating. It should be considered alongside the policy details, our research findings and information published by regulators.

Data & privacy

1

TIIN handles personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and NITDA guidance, including consent capture, data-subject rights, and a Subject Access Request process. See the Privacy Policy for full detail.

Groups & business

2
