An agency, not an insurer
Three roles are easy to confuse in Nigerian insurance distribution. Here is exactly where TIIN sits, and where it deliberately does not.

The licensed insurer that assesses and bears the risk. TIIN is never the underwriter.
Broker / agent
A traditional intermediary that sells or advises on insurance. TIIN operates as a digital agency/marketplace, distinct from a traditional broker.

A digital marketplace that distributes products underwritten by participating, NAICOM-licensed insurers, and never assumes underwriting or claims-payment risk itself.
